After 15+ years on the East and West Coasts, Anna Kelly and Andrew Gaeckle were eager to move back to the Denver area. The goal: to be near both of their families and to find “a supportive community with lots of engagement” for their kiddos, Nora, 4, and Arlo, 2.

What was your first impression of The Canyons?
When we were touring we went to The Exchange, which helps you get a vibe about the place. We got an instant sense that there are a lot of families with kids our age, which was what we were looking for. But we also saw every demographic too, including empty nesters. The Canyons is a very inclusive community. It’s nice to be surrounded by all walks and stages of life.

What are your favorite amenities?
We hit the Canyon House all the time. The kids can run around on the lawn and we can have lunch or dinner. We love the pool, and every weekend the kids bounce between Ramble Park and The Green. Anna and I are both runners, so we like the trails. I’m a cyclist and there are great bike lanes here. I’m in the Castle Pines Cycling Club and The Canyons is super central for meeting up for group bike rides.

Tell us about the home you chose.
We bought The Corbett in the Peregrine neighborhood. We love the amount of space it gives us. We both work from home and there’s room for two offices plus a family space upstairs. The process of building from scratch was seamless and on schedule.

What would you say to families considering The Canyons?
The schools are good. The main challenge is there are so many to choose from! And your kids will find playmates. My daughter was scootering down the street last night and made quick friends with another, older girl. They played basketball and then they were running around and kicking a ball with other kids of all ages. The Canyons reminds me of the way I grew up, which I didn’t think existed anymore.
