If you’ve visited The Exchange™ over the past year, you’ve probably seen Kayla behind the café counter carefully combining espresso shots and perfectly steamed milk to create your beautiful lattes, cappuccinos, and cortados. Since joining the barista team at The Exchange™, Kayla’s already impressive espresso acumen has become even more impressive! We can’t take all the credit — Kayla came to us with five years of premier coffee experience already under her belt — but her spectacular commitment to all things java has proven to us that she is the perfect person to assume the role of Food & Beverage Supervisor at The Exchange™.
Next time you see Kayla, please join us in congratulating her on the promotion!
1. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
The opportunity for growth! I am always looking for new ways to improve my current skill set and I am very grateful for the chance to grow alongside the community!
2. Where’s your favorite place in Colorado?
Georgetown, Colorado is one of my favorite towns to visit, especially in the fall! There are beautiful hiking trails, cute olde town shops, and tasty coffee just down the road at Plume Coffee Bar!
3. Do you have any secret talents?
I have been very fond of the performing arts for many years and have sung show tunes for upwards of nine years now! I also enjoy writing poetry and screenplays whenever I get the chance.
4. What’s your favorite thing about working at The Exchange™?
My favorite thing about working here is most certainly my wonderful coworkers and the clientele! I simply adore having the opportunity to meet so many unique individuals every day. My love for The Exchange™ is rooted in the people and the simple pleasures that come with coffee and conversation.
5. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This book is a classic riveting tale that rings true time and time again. If you haven’t read it before, I highly recommend it!
6. What’s the best movie you’ve seen in the past year?
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery was one of the best movies I’ve seen in the past year. It is exceptionally well directed and good for a laugh!
7. Do you have a favorite pastry at The Exchange™?
The orange poppyseed bread is a personal favorite of mine!
8. How do you take your coffee?
I will sip on our cold brew just the way it is, or I like a good almond milk latte with honey. Don’t forget the cinnamon on top!
