It’s a question we have asked ourselves since we began planning The Canyons. How do we build a new community of homes that respects the land’s rolling topography and beautiful stands of Gambel Oak? The answer is by working with nature, not against her. Saving and restoring the native landscape and following the unique contours of the land. Upholding an ethic of preservation by dedicating a full third of the community to parks, trails and open space.
Not a small endeavor, to be certain. But so worth it.
When you live at The Canyons, the only thing better than being in your beautiful home is being in beautiful nature. This is Colorado, after all.
Bring the kids and get ready to play, because there’s no shortage of places to explore — like the adventurous play structure, tot lot, grassy fields and more.
Our central community park is part of Canyon Village, and is a grassy gathering space where the community meets for events, concerts and more.
The Lawn is like a peaceful and private yard … but even better. No play structures. Just amazing views and lots of quiet that you can take in from a three-season pavilion.
It’s the northern trailhead to The Canyons’ trail system. And the perfect place for neighborly meetups under one of the shaded structures. Letting your children’s imagination run wild on the playground or grassy lawn. Or just relaxing on the lounge seating, inspired by the view of the park’s namesake — the heritage Wild Oak tree.
Or biking. Or walking. The Canyons already has miles of paved and soft-surface trails, for however you like your nature. (We’ll eventually have 15 miles to explore.) So you can meet neighbors for a day hike, take your mountain bike for a vigorous trek on the single-track trail, or enjoy a more relaxing walk on one of the smaller, shorter paths that lead to a larger trailhead. You know that saying “there’s something for everybody”? It’s true here.
