What does “authentic” mean exactly? Good question. For us, here in this place, authentic means a vision, a plan and a set of design guidelines that respect the character of the landscape and those (human and nonhuman) who make it their home. Authentic means neighborhoods that are small and organic. Responsive to the topography. Set in a more natural context and governed by a more rural sensibility. The result will be a community that feels refreshingly different from the typical suburban grid. Our intent is not to subdue the land but to celebrate it. And this difference, for those who care about these things, leads to a much richer quality of life.
